I started Solaris Life Therapy after a 25 year interest in Psychology, Hypnosis and Psychotherapy. My interest was first sparked when I attended a visualisation course in the United States whilst learning to fly there in 1997. Around this time I developed Tinnitus which is a condition that results in ringing, buzzing and clicking noises in the ear. I had played loud electric guitar in rock bands and spent a lot of my life riding and racing motorcycles, these two things contributed to me having Tinnitus. I was first interested in Hypnosis as a way to help my Tinnitus.
I have been in business the since 1984 rising to be MD of a logistics company working with Major Banks, Government Agency’s, Media and Financial Institutions and I served on the board of directors for a number of companies. My time spent in business gives me an insight into the stresses and strains associated with executive management and career minded people.
After 27 years in business I decided that I wanted to spend the rest of my working life, working in the field of Therapy and Research and particularly in the fields of Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy. I completed my training under the guidance of the world-renowned therapist and teacher Terrence Watts at the Essex Institute. I gained a Diploma in Psychotherapy and an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis. I am also a British Tinnitus Association Advisor, giving my time for free helping others with Tinnitus. I am also a Member of the Royal Society of Medicine. I give talks and presentations and I train other therapists. I am currently involved in carrying out research into Psychosomatic illnesses.
I have numerous life experiences which help me to understand many of the problems people suffer from. I am still active playing the guitar although not as loud these days and I still ride and race motorcycles when I have the time. I am keen cyclist doing social rides , organised events (Audax) and charity rides to raise money for worthwhile causes.
